Feb. 18, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Taiwan-based Hon Hai Precision Industry Co, the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer by revenue, is facing a working staff shortage as more and more orders come in after the Chinese New Year, sources reported.

In order to finish the orders, Hon Hai is recalling staff from unpaid leave. Moreover, the company is eager to hire around 12,000 people.

Meanwhile, Terry Gou, chairman of Hon Hai, noted that the company will invest up to NT$1 billion during the next five years to provide 3,000 new jobs.

Last December, Mr. Guo said the company would cut around 50,000 employees worldwide.
